koshi tappu heaven of birds: bird watching


Koshi Tappu Wildlife reserve is situated at the eastern part of Nepal.This reserve contributes about 280 species of birds(ducks:-20 species,ibises:-2 species,egrets,herons,many more storks and the endangered swamp partridge and Bengal florican.


The beauty of Koshi river creating floodplains and swampland invites many species of bird from far off places.Birds from as far as Syberia migrate to this region during winter.So winter season would be best for birdwatching as well investigation.








actions in this park include Jungle safari on elephant, jungle walk ,boat ride ,jeep drive and bird watching.You can get to this park after 3 hours of jeep ride from Kakarvitta (eastern boarder on Nepal),if you prefer to fly ,it is only an hour from Kathmandu .you could pick a jungle lodge among many for accommodation.
